Rehabilitation for the Soldiers
The CSRA has constructed two rehabilitation centers for the child soldiers located in the more urbanized areas of Sierra Leone. Fighting in the war is one thing, but bouncing back from the traumatic events is another. Many child soldiers come to our rehabilitation centers injured, drugged, and traumatized and leave happy, educated, and secure. Through our many therapy sessions and classes, the children are able to once again be children and feel the burden of the war lift off of their shoulders.
Ishmael Beah, seen above, was once a child soldier for the civil war but is now a successful author who resides in New York. He was rehabilitated in the UNICEF rehabilitation center and is now living a very happy life. I mean look at that radiating smile.
